The Central Virginia Skating Club (CVSC) was established as a United States Figure Skating (USFS) club in May, 2006.

National Skating Month

There will be a National Skating Month event at RIZ on Mon., Jan. 16, from 7:00-8:00 p.m.  Similar to the past, CVSC Members will be needed to help participants with getting skates on and off, mini lessons, etc.  Gaby is also looking for two skaters to do a short exhibition that night.  Please let her know if you/your skater is interested in being considered for the exhibition.

February Test Session

The next Test Session will be Thurs., Feb. 23, at RIZ.  Registration for this test session and future ones at both RIZ and SNP will be done through EntryEeze.  The registration period will most likely open around the last week of January.  If you know of skaters who are planning on testing in Feb., please remind them that they need to be current USFS Members (either through CVSC Membership, Learn to Skate Membership, another Skating Club, or USFS directly).

The CVSC is a non-profit organization run by volunteers. The club is devoted to the support and promotion of the sport of figure skating. Its membership is comprised of many skaters of all levels, abilities, goals and ages that enjoy the sport along with their parents, families and friends.

The coaching staff at the Richmond Ice Zone, the CVSC's home ice, also takes an active role in the club.

The CVSC helps staff and runs local competitions, test sessions, social functions, ice shows, exhibitions and many projects geared towards the development of skating in the Richmond, VA area.

A member club of the USFS, the club also supports the Ice Skating Institute (ISI).
